The COSY INFINITY Graphical User Interface Subsystem

Abstract

In this report, an extension of COSY INFINITY is described that allows output to be sent to a graphical user interface (GUI) instead of a traditional text-based console. A GUI allows the development of user friendly interfaces that can also be used by people unfamiliar with the COSY INFINITY programming environment, as well as experienced users.

We discuss in detail the design of both the application programming interface (API) for COSY programmers, as well as the internal implementation of the GUI within the COSY INFINITY source code.
